About me

Short Biography
I’ve always had an interest in computers and technology, and grew up during the home computer revolution using computers such as the ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, Amstrad CPC 464, Commodore 64, Archimedes and many others. I them moved onto PCs in the Windows 1.0 and GEM era, Linux and Macs.

I started my career at Good Technology, joining the company early on when it had just 10 employees. During my 8 years there I’ve worked on a number of projects, both as a developer and later on as a technical project manager. Good Technology grew into a large, London-based digital design agency that was eventually bought by WPP and integrated into VML, their existing worldwide digital agency.

In 2005 I left Good Technology , and with the founder set up Vexed Digital, a digital agency that initially worked on a number of community based websites, amongst other web projects. The agency grew and in 2013 Vexed Digital acquired Future Platforms, a Brighton-based mobile agency. The two agencies were merged together and rebranded under the Future Platforms name.

Today I work as Technical Director at Future Platforms where we work on a variety of work, including backend, web and mobile projects.

Interests
My interests tend to be focussed on computing, but within that are quite wide-ranging – which is a way of saying that I get bored easily and rarely manage to finish a project before moving onto something else 🙂 However I’m probably more of a backend person than anything else having worked on building and hosting such projects for most of my life.
